About Us

The Practice was originally set up by John and his Wife Linda in 1972 following a suggestion by the Senior Partner of F. R. Bates, Son & Price for whom they both worked at the time. The purpose in essence was to act as the small works section of the main Practice.

Over the subsequent years the Practice expanded and was joined in 1988 by Mr. I. T. Fitzherbert formerly the Chairman of the O.V. Webb who brought in further expertise in planning, building and contract litigation. The Practice has extensive expertise in timber frame and traditional construction, together with considerable experience in historical and listed buildings work.

With the assistance of a small group of highly skilled specialist consultants the Practice can provide an extensive range of services from design stage to completion to suit the individual needs and aspirations of each client.

The Practice carries out work right across the UK from Inverness to Cornwall and has been involved in projects in France, Spain, Portugal and India.
